I agree, I'd prefer to receive, and will be gifting, personalised items but without the role or wedding date, as they're nicer and easier to use in the future. I'm currently thinking of monogrammed button up pyjamas for the wedding morning rather than robes with BM/MOH on, for example. That said, things with the role on are often just token gifts or for use in the wedding itself so if I really liked them as a bride I'd give them and just not be offended if they didn't get used. I gave all of my girls personalised wine glasses when I asked them to be in our wedding party but really don't expect them to be used and cherished forever more!

These are cute, but about half of them have no longevity past the wedding day. I'm not going to sport a "Maid of Honor" shirt or tote at Sainsbury's a year or two after the fact. That seems to be the issue with a lot of BM/ MOH gifts.
