Mini moon review: The Arch, London

London is the perfect destination for a romantic break, not least because of the city's gorgeous hotels. But with so many lovely options, how do you choose? Y&YW's Hannah Davies headed to The Arch to find out whether you should put it on your must-visit list

WHERE Set on a quiet street just a short walk from Marble Arch, this stylish city hotel puts you right at the heart of the action. You’re perfectly placed for those quintessential London experiences: retail therapy at Oxford Circus and Bond Street; a stroll through Hyde Park; dinner at the latest hot Mayfair restaurant opening. And being so close to an Underground station means you can easily explore the city’s lesser-known spots, too.

WHY The atmosphere here is of discreet luxury – chic enough to make you feel special, welcoming enough to give a sense of comfort.

Rooms are beautifully decorated, with hand-printed wallpaper, and the beds are blissfully comfortable.

There’s a well-reviewed restaurant and champagne bar; and for a real foodie treat, afternoon tea in the characterful Martini Library is a must-try – in our opinion, it’s one of the best in town. The icing on the cake has to be the service, which is charming and efficient throughout the hotel.
